Product Description

Red koji rice, also known as red grains or red koji, is made by the Aspergillus family fungus Purple Red Aspergillus parasitizing on japonica rice. Its main components are Monacolin-k, red koji pigment г- Aminobutyric acid and unsaturated fatty acids have the functions of promoting blood circulation and resolving blood stasis, strengthening the spleen and dissipating food, warming the stomach, and promoting digestion. Functional red koji rice contains monacolin like compounds, which have significant lipid-lowering effects. The main active ingredient is lovastatin, which was approved by FDA as a new lipid-lowering drug in 1987. Red koji rice extract is made from red koji, and commercial extracts are usually standardized to contain 4% Monacolin-k.
